Last Thursday, September 19, we spoke at the event "Connections: not just technology" dedicated to the role of Artificial Intelligence in manufacturing, as part of the International RTSI 2024 Forum – the flagship conference of the IEEE Italy section, focusing on industry.
The event, organized by the Como-Lecco Chamber of Commerce at the Lecco campus of Politecnico di Milano, saw us recounting the introduction and implementation of AI in the industrial manufacturing sector, presented by our IT Manager Alice Ruscitto.
The case we presented is a feasibility study conducted in collaboration with the National Research Council (CNR) and the Institute of Intelligent Industrial Systems and Technologies for Advanced Manufacturing (STIIMA). The 3D analysis evaluates the quality of joints for furniture assembly and cold-forged parts made of metal wire, produced by F.lli Mauri SpA.
The study confirmed that, thanks to the integration of process data, the effectiveness of 3D inspection technology for quality control is improved, distinguishing defective screws from compliant ones and reducing potential errors.
